Piano Lessons - Children
Debbie has been teaching piano to children for over 30 years .both privately and in schools and music centres. She welcomes beginners of all ages and teaches through to Grade 8. Lessons take place at her purpose built studio in her home in Hastings and cost £15 for a half hour lesson payable half-termly in advance. Lessons are always fun and incorporate all musical styles and repertoire, sometimes using electronic keyboards to enhance the lessons. She also teaches music theory alongside the piano to give students a broader musical understanding. She regularly enters students for ABRSM exams. She always offers a free trial lesson to make sure the children are comfortable and parents are welcome to sit in on this session.
Piano Lessons - Adults
Debbie has had much success teaching adults whether complete beginners, those who want to revisit the piano having learnt as a child or those who want to improve various aspects of their playing. Adults learn in a different way from children and the lessons reflect this. She is happy to prepare adult students for exams or just to learn repertoire. Lessons can be flexible and do not need to take place every week and can take place at a time that suits you. Costs are £15 for a half hour lesson payable per lesson. She always offers a free trial lesson so you can try before you buy! It's never to late to start so why not give it a go. You will need something to practise on in between lessons but this can be an electronic keyboard so long as the keys are full sized.
Jazz Piano
As an experienced jazz musician, Debbie likes to incorporate elements of jazz playing and improvisation in her lessons at all stages. She also prepares students for the ABRSM Jazz Piano exams if you find you prefer this style of playing.
